COVID-19: Taxi-moto operators urged to respect new safety guidelines

Rwanda National Police (RNP) urges taxi-moto operators to follow new guidelines set to curb the spread of Coronavirus. 

The new guidelines were issued by the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) on Wednesday. The issued guidelines are part of the efforts to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 when moto-taxi operators resume their work on June 1. Read more


COVID-19: Police issues fresh warning against violation of safety directives

Rwanda National Police (RNP) issued fresh caution to individuals, groups and the business community, whose actions contravenes the government safety guidelines meant to contain the pandemic of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

RNP spokesperson, Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera said that although the security situation remains generally good and the compliance largely high, there are still “unnecessary isolated incidents of selfish business owners who are being willingly negligent,” warning of “punitive measures without exception.”Read more

Peacekeeping: 15 years contributing to peace in conflict affected countries

The United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution 57/129, designated May 29, every year as the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers. 

It’s a Day to pay tribute to all the women and men, who have served as military, police or civilians in UN Peacekeeping operations. 

On this Day, we honour their courage, sacrifice, professionalism, dedication and pay tribute in the memory of those, who have lost their lives in the cause of peace. Read more


Over 500 Police officers donate blood at Police Training School

A total of 566 Police officers at Police Training School (PTS)  donated blood on Saturday in the voluntary humanitarian act held at the school in Gishari, Rwamagana District.

The voluntary act is part of the commitment by Rwanda National Police (RNP) to boost the national blood bank, an act that falls under the force's human security programmes. It's carried out by the National Centre for Blood Transfusion at PTS Gishali. Read more
