Over 120 Police officers complete basic criminal investigation course
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye, on Friday, June 23, presided over the pass out of 123 Police officers, who completed the first intake of 'Police Basic Criminal Investigations Course' at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District.
The six-month course is part of the Rwanda National Police (RNP) capacity building programme and to equip Police officers with basic criminal investigation skills.Read more
PEACEKEEPING: 44 Police officers complete Individual Police Officers’ course
A two-week Individual Police Officers (IPO) pre-deployment course for 44 Police officers concluded on Friday, June 23, at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.
The Commandant of PTS, Commissioner of Police (CP) Robert Niyonshuti, while closing the course, said that the peacekeeping pre-deployment training was initiated as a result of the existing partnership between Rwanda National Police (RNP) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), to build the capacity of the RNP officers, who will undertake different tasks in the UN mission areas.Read more
Police recovers Frw1.2 million stolen from Nyagatare
Police in Kayonza District recovered over Frw1.2 million on Thursday, June 22, which is part of the money that was stolen from a man in Nyagatare District.
The money was recovered from two people, who were arrested in Rwagwa village, Cyabajwa Cell in Kabarondo sector.
The recovered money is part of Frw1, 445, 000, which was stolen the previous day from a home in Rwinyinya Sector, Nyagatare District.Read more
KIGALI: Police recovers 305 bottles of smuggled liquor
The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (ASOC) department, on Tuesday, June 20, seized 305 bottles of smuggled wines and liquors worth over Frw21 million, in Gasabo District.
The wines and spirits worth Frw21 million, were recovered in a house located in Kinyinya Sector, Kagugu Cell in Kabuhunde Village.Read more
KAMONYI: Police recovers stolen electronics, suspects arrested
Police in Kamonyi District, on Tuesday, June 20, arrested three members of the same ring connected to series of burglaries in City of Kigali and neighbouring districts.
The trio was taken into custody at about 05a.m. when the police and local leaders recovered assorted stolen electronics from a house, which they were renting in Nyarusange Village, Remera Cell of Rukoma Sector.
The recovered electronics include three flat-screen televisions, two computers and their accessories, a radio set, two sound speakers and several forged keys that they used in robberies.Read more
