The second intake of the ‘Police Senior Command and Staff Course’ at the National Police College in Musanze District is set to graduate today after a one-year strategic programme.
Twenty-eight Police officers from nine regional countries took part in the course which started on September 23, last year.
The countries are Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, South Sudan, Kenya, Swaziland, Ethiopia Burundi and Rwanda, the host.
The course offers Master’s in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation and combines three Police components, namely, ‘operational staff work of police’ offered by Rwanda National Police, ‘strategic leadership and management,’ (level seven certificate), offered by the UK-based Bramshill Police College and a Master’s in ‘Peace Studies and Conflict Management’ offered in partnership with the University of Rwanda-College of Arts and Social Science (CASS).
The same number of officers from twelve regional countries also took part in the first intake which ended on September 4, last year.
The countries that took part in the first intake are Somalia, Ghana, Djibouti, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, South Sudan, Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi and Rwanda.
