Promoted cadet officers urged to be exemplary

The Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana has urged Police officers, who completed a cadet course last week to use the acquired skills and knowledge to continue the force’s journey to professionalism.

The IGP said this on March 24 during a pre-deployment briefing of the 458 officers who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector, as they reported back to officially start duties.

He thanked them for the zeal and hard work during the one-year course and appeal to them to be trustworthy, give no ears to rumours, follow the law in their duties and always exercise patience and be catalysts to crime prevention, which he said will continue to improve the image of the force and the country in general.

“Put into action what you learnt to prevent crimes and to further improve security in the country,” IGP told the officers.

He urged them to love their profession and the activities they will be tasked, be patriotic and dignified officers.
