Private Security Service Providers (PSSP have been called upon to aim for quality and professional services.
The call was made on Thursday by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jean Nepo Mbonyumuvunyi, the commissioner for PSSP in Rwanda National Police (RNP).
He was officiating at the opening of the two-day workshop for 20 personnel from Delta security company.
The training under the theme "Security awareness and development” was designed to improve the efficiency and professionalism of Delta security personnel in their day-to-day operations, as well as fostering their partnership with other security organs.
Present was also Jean Claude Mugabire, Delta managing director.
Professionalism, ACP Mbonyumuvunyi said, goes with acquiring modern security equipment, continuous training and improved welfare of personnel.
"The security landscape is changing and you have to also adopt to change, move with the trend, equip your personnel with new skills to be able to detect and prevent crimes," ACP Mbonyumuvunyi said.
Mugabire thanked RNP for its continued support especially through training to equip their staff with the required skills.
The trainees will also acquire skills in customer care and searches.
It will be conducted in phases to reach about 400 members of Delta.
Similar training has also been extended to personnel in other security organs
