Private Security Service Providers (PSSP) have been called upon to aim for professional services and strive for excellence in all their undertakings.

The call was made on Monday by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jean Nepo Mbonyumuvunyi, the Commissioner for PSSP while speaking at the launch of a four-day police-facilitated training for at least 30 personnel from AGESPRO Security Company.

AGESPRO Security Company is among the 17 licensed private security companies. Rwanda National Police (RNP) oversees Private Security Service Providers. Private security firms employee about 21.000 workers.

ACP Mbonyumuvunyi said RNP acknowledges the important supplementary roles played by private security providers and urged them to lay effective measures to prevent crimes.

“Although you are profit-oriented, you have a duty to ensure the safety and security of your clients and their property,” ACP Mbonyumuvunyi said.

He urged them to always undertake risk analysis and vulnerability assessments and then improve your security plans.

“Better trained and regulated officers are not only more effective but also more invested in their positions,” added ACP Mbonyumuvunyi.
