On Monday 5 September, the Rwanda National Police (RNP), invoking article 48 {criminal procedure?} entered the Rwigara residence and escorted Diane Rwigara, Anne Rwigara, and Adelide Rwigara to CID offices for questioning regarding an ongoing investigation of forgery and tax evasion, respectively.

Police spokesperson ACP Theos Badege said:

“Police obtained a warrant to legally enter the residence after the three suspects, Diane Rwigara, Anne Rwigara and Adelide Rwigara had failed to respond to multiple summons from the CID. After questioning at the CID offices, the suspects were escorted back to their residence in Kiyovu. Investigations are still ongoing and we may ask them to report to CID again.”

The Rwanda National Police urges everyone to adhere to the law and cooperate with law enforcement during investigations.
