As a way of managing the use and movement of bicycles on Rwandan public roads effectively, Rwanda National Police informs cyclists on the following;  

  1. Bicycles were not banned on public roads

  2.  Rwanda National Police and other charged institutions are currently formulating general public instructions that will govern cyclists on public roads. 

  3. As the new instructions are yet to be formulated, Rwanda National Police together with other security organs and local government entities will continue to supervise the movement of cyclists on public roads in order to avoid road accidents and to improve road security.

  4. RNP reminds that the existing by-laws and instructions on use and boundaries of cyclists have to be respected

  5. What is entailed in this statement doesn't concern by laws established by the City of Kigali on the use and boundaries of cyclists.
