Police win third straight match in CECAFA Kagame Cup

Police FC continued their unstoppable form in the Cecafa Kagame Cup tournament on Thursday afternoon, beating Somalia’s Banadir 3-1 to remain top of the summit in Group C.

Andre Cassa Mbungo’s side scored twice in the first half through Kipson Atuheire in the 4th minute, who converted with a cool finish after a good cross from Jacques Tuyisenge, and Mousa Habimana seven minutes later from skipper Jean d’Amour Uwimana corner kick.

In second half, Jacques Tuyisenge scored the third in the 73rd minute two minutes after the Somali champions had pulled a goal back through Moustafa Zekor Garba.

Police FC have become a surprise team in the tournament after winning all their first three games, scoring five times and conceding one goal in the process.

In yesterday’s first game, Atlabara and Adama City shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.  Atlabara opened the scoring through Ajak Sebit in the 41st minute before Ayele Benyam equalised for Adama with 12 minutes left.

Benadir defeat to Police means they have lost all their games and are effectively out of the tournament.
