Police in Kigarama sector of Kirehe District, on Thursday arrested a man suspected of tricking and buying fertilizers from beneficiaries in the area and smuggling it to other countries, which has a likely impact on the government’s agricultural development to increase production of farmers
The suspect, who is currently detained at Kirehe Police station, was arrested following a tip-off from area residents.
About 14 sacks of fertilizers [DAP and URAE types], were recovered from the suspect’s house in Kimesho Village, Kiremera cell.
Rwanda National Police warned the business community, especially in the countryside from engaging in such illegal businesses that have effects on the government’s development agenda.
