Police FC has continued its strong start to the season with a 3-0 win against Bugesera FC, as the club pursues its first ever league title.
The club now sits on top of the national league table after registering a 100 percent start, after two successive wins against Mukura and Bugesera.
Police win against Bugesera on September 22 - at the Kicukiro Grounds - was masterminded by Ngomirakiza Hegman, who scored the first goal early goal in the third minute, followed by a brilliant strike from a free kick scored by Captain Jack Tuyisenge in the 44th minute.
The game was put beyond Bugesera’s reach by a third goal scored in the second half on the stroke of the 75th minute by Danny usengimana.
Andre Cassa Mbungo Andre, Head Coach of Police, was full of praise for his players, who he said are playing as a team, although he admitted that there are still too many games in the league which need total concentration.
“The players are controlling the game very well and finding spaces to score goals. This is a good start, but we know that anything can happen in the league. There are very many strong sides and we need to keep our momentum and composure,” he said.
Police started the season in good form after scooping two preseason titles; Agaciro Cup and Peace Cup.
