Rwanda National Police Football club confirms it has signed two players in bid to bolster its squad ahead of the new season.
The signed players are midfielder Hegman Ngomirakiza from APR and striker Isaac Muganga from Rayon Sport.
"I can confirm that Rwanda National Police has finalized terms with Ngomirakiza and Muganga and they are now Police FC players," Police FC spokesperson, Chief Inspector of Police Jean de Dieu Mayira, confirmed.
"The club had a void in midfield and upfront. With the coming of these two good and expensive players, we feel the club is now complete. The Police head coach has a big say in vetting players, unless he finds other areas that needs to be filled, we won't sign other players."
Meanwhile CIP Mayira disclosed that Police FC has renewed contracts of four other players
They are team captain Jacques Tuyisenge, defender Fabrice Twagizimana (Ndikukazi), goalkeeper Marcel Nzarora and Gabriel Mugabo.
"All the players and club management are now in recess, but preparations and full training ahead of the next season starts on July 27," CIP Mayira said.
Police FC finished third on the league table last season and went on to win the 'Peace Cup' after edging Rayon Sport 1-0 on the finals.
Sports is one of the initiatives through which the force enhances its community policing ideal in a bid to strengthen Police-public partnership and increase awareness, fight and prevention of crimes.
