Police recovers stolen electronics in Kigali

The Rwanda National Police (RNP), on September 11, conducted an operation to crackdown on wrongdoers in Kigali, seizing an assortment of electronics and different types of illicit gin.

One person identified as Jean Claude Gakamba, was arrested in Nyarugenge District in connection with the theft.

He is currently detained at Muhima Police station.

The recovered electrons include four flat television screens. The illicit gin include 3,336 sachets of Suzie and Kick and 14 liters of Kanyanga.

The illicit gin was impounded in Kimisagara Sector in Nyarugenge.

Gakamba is suspected of helping some suspected thieves to sell stolen electronics.

The Central Region Police Spokesperson Superintendent (SP) Modeste Mbabazi said “the suspect was trailed after area residents provided police with the information”.

SP Mbabazi called upon the public to refrain from all sorts of criminality and instead partner with security organs through timely information sharing to ensure those involved are arrested and brought to book.
