The Rwanda National Police football club came from behind to force a 1-all draw against Rayon Sports and to stretch the unbeaten run in the Rwanda Azam Premier League.
This was the fifth day of the national league played on Saturday at Kicukiro artificial turf.
Rayon Sport took the lead in the stroke of the first half to break off 1-0.
Police FC came back stronger in the second half, although several attempts to pull back the match produced nothing, at least until the 58th minute.
Isaie Isonga converted a penalty 13 minutes into the second half to take his score tally to four goals, after he was brought down by a Rayon Sport defender, to make it 1-1.
The draw took police to 11 points, having won three games and drew twice, although they slide behind table leaders AS Kigali, which lead by just a goal difference.
Police coach, Andre Cassa Mbugo hailed his players for the come back and taking control of the second half, despite being unlucky to score more goals.
He believes an early Rayon Sport goal by David Kasirye was offside, and shouldn’t have counted.
“Players came back focused, powerful and enthusiastic and it’s that courage and spirit that produced a goal and equally a required point,” said Cassa Mbugo, shortly after the match.
The Police’s next match will be against Sunrise FC on October 24, away in Rwamagana.
