Sixty-four police officers, on June 4, started a two-week store management course at Kigali Metropolitan Police
The training is part of the force's ongoing strategy to equip the officers with skills and knowledge in various policing disciplines.
The officers will be taken through the responsibilities and functions of stores, warehousing and store operations, inventory management and control, receiving logistics and supply chain management.
Others include effective store management, logistics maintenance, store accounting, stock packaging and marking, material handling, dangerous goods and hazardous stores.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Dennis Basabose, Commissioner for Logistics in RNP appealed to the officers to make good use of the course to get more skills and knowledge which will help them execute their tasks effectively.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Administration and Personnel, Stanley Nsabimana, while officially opening the training challenged participants to utilise this opportunity so that they can be able to ensure proper recording, handling and security of the force equipment.
Training is among the RNP priority areas.
