Police officers reminded to actively take part in Umuganda

Police officers have been challenged to actively value and take part in the monthly community locally known as Umuganda and other government development initiatives.

Commissioner of Police John Bosco Kabera, Commissioner for Communication Information System (CIS) in Rwanda National Police made the call on August 30 while speaking to Police officers shortly after umuganda that took place inside the RNP general  headquarters in Kacyiru.

The community exercise include clearing in and around the general headquarters.

Rwanda National Police, CP Kabera said, recognises Umuganda and other government programmes as great pillars towards sustainable development.

The Rwanda National Police is involved in various  human security activities to alleviate poverty and protect the environment.

The force has so far has planted trees on 300 hectares across the country, constructed terraces on Jali hill to prevent soil erosion, houses and medical insurance for the vulnerable families.
