The pass out was presided over by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye.

Five of the course participants were women.

DIGP Namuhoranye thanked the participants for staying focused and determined throughout the training.

"The Rwanda National Police leadership is aware that the course you have completed is very demanding but rewarding; it is beneficial to you, the institution and your country," DIGP Namuhoranye said.

The basic counter terrorism course is one of the RNP training disciplines in line with the professionalisation of the force against the emerging security threats.

Capacity building, particularly through training and acquiring modern policing tools, is one of the priorities of RNP

“The policing environment is changing and as law enforcement institutions, we must adopt to the situation to be ahead of criminals. This is an important training, which many others will go through, but also bearing in mind that you will also undergo other courses; training is continuous."

The commandant of CTTC, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Celestin Twahirwa, commended the effort exhibited by the trainees during the course and encouraged them to keep the moment even in their tasks.

He also thanked RNP leadership for the support in the accomplishment of the school training programmes.
