Police officers acquire skills in use of crane vehicle

Seven Police officers from the Fire and Rescue Brigade were on Saturday trained in the use of the crane truck, a mobile vehicle used to lift heavy loads.

The Rwanda National Police acquire the mobile crane machine to respond in rescue missions in case of disasters including road accidents.

It was last week used to lift the two trucks that were involved in a fatal accident along Kigali-Rwamagana highway, which claimed four people.

The officers were given skills on how to use the machine to lift heavy loads and how to operate in high risk zones.

Senior superintendent Jean de Dieu Gashiramanga said this one day training is part of the Rwanda National Police ongoing capacity building and to equip the officers with all required skills in various policing disciples.

Capacity building especially through training, is part of the Rwanda National Police priorities.
