The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K Gasana, this Saturday September 26, joined Southern Province residents in the monthly umuganda and tutored them about road safety and crime prevention.
During the event, residents worked with the police to clear the land where several houses of the needy will be constructed. The IGP also pledged to help construct 4 houses for the vulnerable families.
Elsewhere, Police was deeply involved in Umuganda where officers cleaned different surroundings in all provinces as well as educating the masses on road safety as part of the ongoing monthly campaign, and crime prevention and reporting.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of administration and personnel, Juvenal Marizamunda lead the Umuganda activities at the Police Headquarters in Kigali while in the Eastern Province, Police took part in Umuganda in Gatsibo district championed by the District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Emmanuel Karasi.
Residents took part in the construction of Nyagihanga police station in Nyagihanga sector as part of appreciating police services.
During Umuganda in Gasabo district of Kigali City, police pledged to pay medical insurance for 20 vulnerable people. Different other activities were conducted by police in Western and Northern provinces.
