In a bid to continuously upgrade skills in performing quality service delivery, 60 Police officers stationed in the Northern and Western Provinces received training in customer care and public relations.
The five-day trainings started on February 16 and the training sessions are conducted by experts from the Workforce Development Authority (WDA).
“This is part of the continuous trainings that Rwanda National Police conducts to update the skills and knowledge of officers in performing their duties. It will improve your ability to deliver quality services to the people living in Rwanda, as well as sharpen your skills in the operations that you conduct on a daily basis,” District Police Commander of Musanze, Senior Superintendent Benoit Nsengiyumva, said while addressing trainees in the Northern Province.
“Police endeavors to improve everyday and it is in this capacity that this training is being conducted as we move towards achieving our mission of delivering the best services in a professional and accountable manner.”
By continuously training its officers in various fields such as criminal investigations, traffic inpsections and the like, RNP steps closer to its vision aimed at making the people living in Rwanda feel safe, involved and reassured.
Other than partnering with other institutions such as WDA, Police has three schools; The National Police College in Musanze, the Police Training School in Gishari and the Counter Terror Training Centre in Mayange, which have had a big role in professionalizing the force in a very short period of time.
It is through such initiatives that Police equips officers with relevant skills to help it in its priority to deliver high quality services, accountability and transparency, in a bid to safeguard the rule of law and provide a safe and crime free environment for all.
