Police Handball Club stretches unbeaten run

ES Kigoma 15-26 Police

Police Handball Club beat ES Kigoma 26-15 on day four of the national handball league played in the heavy downpour on Saturday morning to stretch their unbeaten run to 10 matches having won all the games played in all competitions this season so far.

Norbert Duteteriwacu was on target six times for Police as the table leaders beat the hosts 14-9 before break.

The law enforcers continue to seat on top of the log with twelve maximum points.

Zachary Tuyishime and Norbert Tuyisenge also scored four goals each while the club top scorer so far, Gilbert Mutuyimana netted twice to take his individual tally to 26 goals in all four matches.

"Although we came out as winners with the match maximum points, we didn't display our game because of the heavy rain which rained throughout the match," said AIP Antoine Ntabanganyimana, the Police Handball Club head coach.

"We lost only one match in all the seven local competitions we participated in, last season, where we won all the trophies. We have so far won two trophies this season and have not lost any game. That's the rhythm we want to continue with."

"We have a tough game next weekend against on form Gicumbi, and to defend the Genocide Memorial Cup tournament in June. That's our concern and focus now."
