The Rwanda National Police Handball Club will join other three local teams in the Rwanda Cup tournament that will be played this Saturday at Kimisagara Youth Centre in Nyarugenge district.
The other clubs are defending champions Nyakabanda, College of Education (formerly KIE).
Nyakabanda won last year’s edition after beating APR in the final.
This season’s local handball competitions have been entirely a ‘one-club show’ with the law enforcers crowned champions in all the competitions.
The competitions are, the national league, Beach tournament, Labour Day, Memorial, Liberation and Carré d’ AS and cups.
Police coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana, who guided his club to a historical year, believes his side will also show the “spirit of champions to add the seventh one.”
Jean Paul Ngarambe, Ferwahand Secretary General said he expects a competitive games with coaches preparing players for national team competitions next year.
“This tournament will help in identifying and preparing players who will play for national team in zone five tournament in Ethiopia in February,” Ngarambe said.
