Rwanda National Police Football Club (Police FC) has officially unveiled its new signings, coaching staff, and management team ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club chairman emphasizing the team’s ambition to win the Rwanda Premier League title as its primary objective.
The unveiling ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 22, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru, where the club introduced six new players, two new coaches, new club officials and the squad that will represent the team during the upcoming campaign.
The recruits include Malian striker Keffa Tangara, who joins from Djoliba AC in Mali, fellow forward Moussa Limane from Ghana's Asante Sports S.C., Ghanaian left-back Iddrisu Shaibu, who signed from Kenya's Sofapaka FC, and Kenyan midfielder Mzungu Japheth, also recruited from Sofapaka FC.
The club also completed the signing of defender Rushema Chris following his departure from Rayon Sports. The new arrivals add depth to a squad that already includes Rugwiro Kevin, who returns after a loan spell at AS Muhanga, and Byishimo Valua, who joined from Bugesera FC.
Additionally, Police FC has extended the contracts of captain Nsabimana Eric, popularly known as "Zidane," midfielder Iradukunda Simeon, goalkeeper Niyongira Patience and striker David Chimezie.
Addressing the press conference during the unveiling ceremony, Commissioner of Police (CP) Yahaya Kamunuga, the Police FC Chairman, reaffirmed the club's ambition of lifting the Rwanda Premier League trophy.
"Our goal this season is clear—we want to become league champions. The Rwanda National Police leadership remains fully committed to providing the team with everything it needs to succeed. Achieving that objective will require discipline, unity and hard work from everyone involved," Kamunuga said.
The club ushered in a new technical bench led by Moroccan head coach Rkyek Jaafar, who replaces Tunisian coach Ben Moussa and will work alongside Spanish assistant coach Bakkali Tahiri Mostafa, with both coaches signing two-year contracts as Police FC seeks to build a competitive team capable of challenging for great honours.

Police FC also announced key appointments within its leadership structure. Superintendent of Police (SP) Diane Ntakirutimana was named the club's new Secretary General, replacing Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Claudette Umutoni, who served in the position for the past three years.

Former footballer Rutsindura Antoine, widely known as "Mabombe," was appointed as Technical Director, while CIP Emmanuel Ruzigana takes over as Team Manager.

chairman explained that the appointment of a new technical director and coaching staff reflects the club's determination to address the shortcomings that affected last season's campaign.
"We carefully evaluated our previous season and identified areas that needed improvement. Bringing in a new technical team is part of a broader plan to strengthen the club, improve performance and build a winning mentality," he added.
CP Kamunuga also emphasized the club's long-term vision of developing young talent while maintaining a competitive senior squad.
"We are committed to investing in youth development because the future of this club depends on nurturing talented young players. At the same time, we will continue recruiting quality footballers who can help Police FC compete consistently for trophies,” he said.
The changes are part of Police FC's efforts to strengthen its technical and administrative structures, develop young talent, and build a competitive squad as it targets a stronger campaign and the league title in the 2026/27 season.
