Police FC outsmarted in Anti-Corruption Cup

Defending champions, Police FC, lost their crown against bitter rivals AS Kigali in the Anti-Corruption Cup in a highly contested game at the Amahoro Stadium.
After a series of chances being missed by either side, Ndikumana Kodo’s goal scored in the 70th minute was the only deciding factor in a game which could have gone either way.

The new champions, AS Kigali were rewarded with Rwf2.5 million by the tournament’s organizers – the Ombudsman’s Office, while the law enforcers were rewarded Rwf2 million.

Casa Mbungo André, Police FC head coach, congratulated the winners – adding that he would have loved his side to win the trophy since they lead the corruption battle in the country.

He now turns his eyes on the National league where, where Police FC has a really big chance against local giants APR and Rayon Sports.

The Anti-Corruption Cup takes place every year to mark the end of the anti-corruption week, a campaign that seeks to uproot the scourge from society.

Police FC was last year crowned champions of the cup after thumping Rayon Sports 2-1.
