Police football club has moved one step up to the third place on the national football league standings. The single step up is a result of the 1-0 win over Etincelles in a home match played at Kicukiro artificial turf on ishDecember 24.
Police FC now has 20 points in 11 games played so far, two ahead of fourth placed Rayon Sports, who were held 1-all draw by the stubborn Rubavu-based Marines and six behind table leaders APR who thrashed Kiyovu 5-0, their highest score and win of the season.
Tactical winger Innocent Habyarimana gave Police FC the Christmas gift in the last 15 minutes of the match with a well curved free kick right behind the box that left their opponent’s goalkeeper wandering.
Elsewhere, AS Kigali remained in the second position with a 1-0 win against Espoir at the Kigali regional stadium while Sunrise, Mukura and Amagaju registered Christmas eve 1-0 home win each against Gicumbi, Musanze and Isonga respectively.
