Skipper Eric Ngendahimana and Jean Marie Vianney Muvandimwe were on target as Police FC beat Nyamagabe-based Amagaju FC 2-1 on Friday.
It was Day Four of Azam Rwanda Premier League and third successive win for the law enforcers.
Following a comfortable 5-1 and 2-1 win over Espoir and Gicumbi, respectively, Albert Joel Mpfande's side travelled to Nyamagabe looking to maintain the convincing performance.
And of course, the players didn't disappoint.
Captain Ngendahimana led by example in the first half when he took a rebound off Antoine Dominic Ndayishimiye's thunderbolt, which the goalie struggled to save but only to direct it to Ngendahimana's foot. He made no mistake to put Police FC in front.
Mpfande made some changes deep in the match introducing Uwimbabazi Jean Paul and Niyibizi Vedaste for Arafat and Osee Iyabivuze, respectively.
After several wasted chances coupled with a watery and slippery pitch, striker Peter Otema was brought down inside the box to win a penalty.
Muvandimwe converted on the spot kick in the 65th minute to double the lead.
The hosts got their consolation goal in the dying minutes of the match through a well taken free-kick.
"Players were affected by the status of the playground but they managed to hangon and to get the maximum points that we deserved," coach Mpfande said.
Police's next task will be at home against Musanze on Day Five come November 8.
