Police FC face Gicumbi in national league opener

The Rwanda National Police Football Club will face Gicumbi FC in their opening match of the Turbo King National football League under the RWANDA Football Federation (Ferwafa) revised fixtures for the upcoming 2014/15 league which starts on October 18.

The two sides face-off on October 19 away in Gicumbi before the Police side face SC Kiyovu three days later.

The league which was initially supposed to kick off on September 20, was pushed forward to allow completion of investigations into cases of players who hold double identity.

The league fixtures were revised because matches will be played week days and weekends so that the season ends as originally scheduled. The first round will end on January 11 with the second round kicking off a fortnight later and is expected to climax at the end of April.

Police FC will then play the newly promoted Sunrise on October 25 away in Rwamagana and host AS Kigali on October 28 at Kicukiro artificial turf.

The Rwanda National Police Football Club bought four new players ahead of the new season..

The new players are defender Muhamed Mpozembizi from Musanze FC, striker Idisbaridi Nshuti from Mukura and midfielders Rashid Karisa and Vincent Habamahoro from Sec Academy and Gicumbi FC respectively.
