Police FC created the better chances and enjoyed the lion’s share of possession against local rivals Rayon Sports in a league fixture that ended in a draw.
Although the chance to go second in the table was missed in the draw, head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo praised his side for defending with zeal while also displaying attractive football.
“We played really well. The only thing missing was a win, but the boys did a great job, especially against a top club like Rayon Sports,” he said.
“Our ambitions are to go high up the table and win the league title and are sure we will do that once the goals start coming in for us. We will train hard and make our chances.”
Police FC maintains its third position on 21 points from 12 games, behind leaders APR and second placed AS Kigali, much as they could have snatched second place with a win against The Blues of Nyanza.
The last time both sides met was in the semi-final of the Ombudsman Cup in December, where Police defeated Rayon Sports 2-1.
