Police FC, APR share spoils

Police Football Club came from 2 goals down to force a 2-all draw in a Saturday afternoon entertaining national football league encounter with table leaders, APR played at Nyamirambo stadium.

All the four goals of the match were scored in the first half

Playmaker, Innocent Habyarimana, who created the two goals, was a danger to the military side defence especially in the first half, which led to the cancellation of Issa Bigirimana and Jean Claude Iranzi’s earlier respective goals

His cross in the 30th minutes found Jean Paul Havugimana in the box, who headed home to make it 2-1 and to bring hope to fans.

About ten minutes later, Imran Nshimiyimana made it 2-2 fom another Habyarimana’s cross that found him in the box to head past APR goalie.

An away point for the law enforcers, who a fortnight ago beat another league challenger, AS Kigali and ensured a 2-0 mid-week win over Sunrise, meant that Police FC can still lift their first league trophy, should they maintain the tempo.

Police FC is now tied on same points – 32 – with AS Kigali and seven behind APR, after 19 matches played so far.
