A contingent of 140 police officers under Formed Police Unit (FPU), on Saturday, left for a one-year peacekeeping mission in Mali.
The Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana presided over the departure of the officers at Kigali international Airport.
The maiden contingent in the West African nation includes 17 females.
The police chief appealed to the officers to keep up the force’s spirit in missions and cooperate with other security organs and Malians to bring peace in Mali.
