Police in Kirehe has arrested Callixte Ndacyayisenga, over allegedly stealing 27 cows from his boss’s farm,in Biharamuro district,Tanzania.
The suspect,38, was the keeper for Ndemezo Munyejwi’s herd.
Emmnauel Iyakaremye, 22, Steven Nsabimana,28 (sealers on Akagera river), facilitated him to take the cattle through the river.
The trio is held at Kirehe Police for pending investigation.
Ndacyayisenga admits the crime, saying, he was to sell the cows.
He had faked his names under Georges Byamukama.
Police intercepted him on Monday, at about 9:00 p.m, in Munini cell,Mahama sector,of Kirehe district ,on his way leading the herd.
Kirehe District Police Commander, Superintendent Innocent Kagorora commended sealers to abstain from being involved in such illegal acts, which include, helping cattle thieves.
Superintendent Kagorora lauded the public for its incessant cooperation in providing Police with the information on various issues, which, in turn, leads not only to crime prevention but also the arrest of criminals.
He appealed to local leaders to always question people’s movements and report any suspected person to Police, and on time.
