The Rwanda Police peacekeepers in Mali escorted members of the UN Security Council and diplomats, who visited the West African nation between January 1st and 3rd.
The UN staff and diplomats met the Malian President, local authorities, international actors, representatives of the civil society and MINUSMA authorities.
On 2 February, the Rwanda Formed Protection Unit (RWAFPU 1) in Mali escorted the officials to MOPTI city, North Mali, 600kms from RWANDA FPU base camp.
There are over 140 Rwanda Police officers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali ( MINUSMA)
They are charged with security MOPTI airport, Convoy protection, VIP escort and Public order during meetings, among others.
