The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye urged Police officers operating in the Western region to aim for quality and professional services.
The Deputy Police Chief made the call on Monday while touring District Police Units (DPUs) and Police stations in the Western region.
The tour is part of the RNP leadership to assess the performance of DPUs and Police stations.
On Monday, DIGP Namuhoranye toured Police stations in the DPUs of Nyabihu, Ngororero and Rubavu, where he reminded the officers that "professionalism is defined by discipline, being where you're supposed to be in time and providing excellent services to the people in time."
He urged the officers to strengthen operations and community policing efforts against illicit drugs, smuggling as well as preventing traffic accidents.
The Deputy Police Chief also mentioned of strengthening the zero stance to corruption, desisting from drunkenness, being close and working with the people, and hygiene.
DIGP Namuhoranye further called for respect, proper handling of equipment, teamwork, patriotic services and believing in themselves.
