Police Football Club officially unveiled new signings on Wednesday, including players and the coaching staff. The unveiling held at Kicukiro stadium was presided over by Commissioner of Police (CP) Bruce Munyambo, the Honorary Member of Police FC.

Present was also the club President, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bosco Rangira.

The occasion also marked the beginning of the training camp. The new technical bench is headed by Francis Haringingo as the head coach, Claude Rwaka as assistant coach while Ikamba Mpinu Lems a.k.a Ramadhan Nkunzingoma is the new goalkeeper coach.

Haringingo and Rwaka were coach and assistant coach for Mukura Victory Sport, respectively, prior to their appointment. Ikamba was also previously the goalkeeper coach for Rayon Sport.

The new players include striker Justin Mico, who rejoined his former club from Kenya’s Sofapaka FC, Valerie Nduwayo (midfielder) from Musanze FC, Dominique Savio Nshuti released by APR and winger Magloire Ndikumana from Burundi’s Olympique Star.

Others are Eric Ndoriyobija (central defender) from Stand United FC of Tanzania, the duo of Yusuf Munyakazi (midfielder) and Cedric Kubwimana (winger) both from Mukura VS, Emery Niyomubona (right back) from Bugesera FC and Emery Ntirushwa recalled from a loan spell with Muhanga.

Police FC also promoted three of its players from Interforce. They are Jean Luc Tuyizere, Pacific Ngabonziza and Aime Ntirushwa.

The Burundian coach also appointed defender Aimable Nsabimana and Dominique Savio Nshuti as his captain and assistant captain, respectively.

“I am happy to work with Police FC, it’s a team with an objective to win trophies, and I am pleased to win the management trust,” coach Haringingo said.

“Our target is to revive the name of Police FC, and that means the only focus is to win cups. All that I request for was given; I have good players and we are ready for the challenge in the new season,” he added.

He also explained that the appointment of team captains was based on age, experience and teamwork.

CP Munyambo welcomed the players and the technical staff, and pledged Rwanda National Police (RNP) support.

“We took time to scout for quality players and coaching staff with experience with only one duty; to win trophies. RNP is committed to supporting you, the ball is now in your hands, individual and collective teamwork and commitment will be key to success. Train hard and fight easy,” CP Munyambo said.

He reminded players to “aim higher.” “Your mission shouldn’t be just playing for Police FC or any other local clubs. This should be your gateway to big teams across the world. We are happy to have good leadership that also supports sports and football in particular; seize the opportunity.”
