Police Football Club head coach Albert Joel Mphande said the “team is ready for a challenge” and promised an “impressive season”.
The 2018/2019 Azam National Football League kicks off this Friday and Police will start the campaign on Sunday away against Muhanga FC.

“We have been training throughout the entire pre-season period, the institution (Rwanda National Police) gave me everything I had asked for to build a good team ahead of the new season including players, so the failure will be ours,” the Zambian tactician said.
He added: “I have a team of youthful players that is ready for the challenge; it is a team that is ready to compete for any trophy in all tournaments.”

Police FC secretary general and club spokesperson, Supt. Regis Ruzindana said that they have so far forwarded names of 29 players that will be used in the new season.
“We signed 10 new players and promoted four others from Interforce to either fill the void left by the players that joined other clubs or to fill gaps where we had weakness,” Supt. Ruzindana said.

“Last season was not impressive, we finished 6th and things went wrong in the first round; we had a void upfront but Mphande came at the right time to take the team through the second round and he had enough time to understand weak areas and to scout good players to fill the gaps,” he added
