At least 277 private security personnel working with Intersec Security Company (ISCO), on Friday, completed a three-month ‘Basic Guard Course’ at Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.
During the intensive training, the guards received skills including arms handling, striping and assembling , martial arts and drill among other security related skills.
At the pass out, trainees demonstrated skills acquired during the training that mainly consisted of operational skills.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Vianney Nshyimiyimana, the Commandant of PTS expressed
confidence that the skills acquired will significantly improve the security service they will undertake.
“We have no doubt the skills acquired will be beneficial to the public and your clients in particular,” CP Nshyimiyimana said.
He said PTS will continue to impart the necessary skills required by private security personnel.
He urged the trainees to remain disciplined and committed to their jobs, aim for quality customer services and vigilance.
“Security requires people of integrity, commitment and professionalism, and we are confident that you have taken a complete package that will guide you towards service excellence," the Commandant said.
Private security service providera are under the management of Rwanda National Police (RNP).
