Over 140 law enforcement officers complete Tactical Command Course

Some 145 law enforcement officers on Monday, December 22, completed a four-month Tactical Command Course (PTCC) at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari, in Rwamagana District.

The 17th intake include 132 officers from the Rwanda National Police (RNP), four from the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), five from the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS), and four from the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS).

The Tactical Command Course enhance the leadership capacity of junior officers by equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills in leadership, planning, command, and effective supervision of police operations.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye.

It was also attended by the Commissioner General of the Rwanda Correctional Service, Evariste Murenzi, and the Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau, Col (Rtd) Pacifique Kayigamba Kabanda.

CG Namuhoranye emphasized the importance of such training in building institutional capacity and fostering cooperation among security organs.

“These trainings are vital to strengthening police capacity by expanding participation, including officers from other institutions, and enhancing inter-agency cooperation, as all security organs share the common goal of ensuring the safety of Rwandans and their property,” CG Namuhoranye said.

He encouraged the trainees to clearly understand the purpose of their profession and responsibilities, noting that this clarity enables them to provide timely and appropriate responses to evolving security challenges.

He also urged them to integrate the knowledge acquired into their daily duties for effective service delivery.
