NYAMAGABE: RNP trains managers and service providers on fire safety

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) fire safety training was on Thursday, November 4, extended to 36 service providers in high risk enteprises in Nyamagabe District.

They include managers and employees of hospitality establishments, fuel stations, school cooks and security guards.

It is part of the ongoing Fire and Rescue Brigade awareness on fire safety and how to respond to fire emergencies

Trainees were equipped with basic skills to prevent and fight fire using various equipment such as fire extinguishers, water, sand, fire blanket and powder as well as precaution safety measures on using Liquefied Petroleum Gas.



Assistant Commissinoner of Police (ACP) Paul Gatambira, the Commanding officer for Fire and Rescue Brigade said that the trainees were selected due to their fire related posts.

?You have been selected basing on your posts of duty where fire incidents can occur at any time. You require to be aware of the types of fires and firefighting techniques and following the practices you demonstrated, we hope you will assist your work places to prevent and react to fire related emergencies,? said ACP Gatambira.

ACP Gatambira reminded them to always swiftly call the fire and rescue brigade and the nearby unit, in case of fire.

"There are different types of fire, and it is important to always be quick to call the Police in situations where fire incidents seem beyond your control, on 111, 112 or 0788311449 for the Southern Province."
