Residents of Karembo sector in Ngoma district were sensitised on crime prevention and urged to strengthen cooperation with security organs to combat security challenges that still exist in the area.

Supt. Callixte Kalisa, the District Police Commander explained to them that ensuring security in a two-way traffic and appealed to them to embrace policing initiatives like neighbourhood watch and report families that could be facing internal conflicts so that they can be helped to solve them before they turn violent.

He urged them to strive to identify what is likely to cause insecurity and share timely information so that the incidences are prevented rather than dealing with consequences.

The executive secretary of Karembo sector, Mathias Byenda advised the community to be an eye for neigbours, mind about their security and fight the use of illicit drugs.
