Ngoma: Leaders discuss reinforcing security

Ngoma District security meeting held on October 31 concluded with leaders agreeing to take tough stance in crime prevention.

The meeting brought together local leaders at all levels, security organs and officials from the justice sector.

George Mupenzi, the District Vice Mayor in charge of Economy to lead people by example and give them quality services in time.

He appealed to them to always provide good and timely service to residents.

He also urged the local leaders to sensitize residents on community policing and crime prevention and implementing development initiatives like Mutuelle de Santé”, Ndi Umunyarwanda and Umuganda.

The District Police Commander (DPC), Chief Supt. Moses Gatare challenged the local leaders to engage more in combating drug abuse and gender based violence.

He urged them to strengthen night patrols and increase awareness campaigns against the vice to avert its associated ill-effects like school drop outs, assault and theft.
