Ngoma: CPCs, local authorities review security status

Over 400 members of Community Policing Committees (CPCs), opinion and local leaders in Remera sector of Ngoma district met on October 10 to assess the security status in the area and devise mechanisms to combat existing challenges.

The meeting held in Bugera cell was presided over by Jean Bosco Rutagengwa, in charge of youth in the district who urged the participants to collaborate to reinforce security in the entity.

Jean Bosco Rutagengwa, an official in charge of youth in the youth thanked residents of Remera sector for their role in ensuring and reinforcing security in their area.

He urged them to be more active and involved in security issues, tighten night patrols, among others.

He urged them to put much emphasis on neighborhood watch program to avert crimes.

Chief Inspector Moses Gatare, the District Police Commander (DPC), commended residents for their role in crime prevention and arrest of culprits.

He appealed to participants to fight consumption and sell of illicit drugs, selling of alcoholic beverages to under aged people.

He called-upon the residents to continue parting in the fight against crimes and providing timely information of those involved.
