Police in Musanze District has arrested three people suspected of forging and selling driving licence.
Osward Niyigena, 24, Jean Paul Ngarukiyintwari, 27 and one only identified as Rugira were apprehended on August 7 in Mpenge cell of Muhoza sector.
At the time of their arrest, the trio was found in possession of two forged definitive licences.
One of the seized fake licences was in Ngarukiyintwari’s names. They suspects are currently held at Muhoza Police station as investigations continue.
Supt. Emmanuel Hitayezu, Police Spokesperson for the Northern region said they are still looking for the fourth person said to be connected to this ring.
He added that the criminal act was reported by members of the public, who found them fighting over personal issues and apprehended them.
“When People searched them trying to establish what could have caused the fight, they found two forged licences on them. They called and handed them to Police,” Supt. Hitayezu explained.
He warned against the illegal act adding that the process to acquire a driving licence has been made easier, which seekers should seize instead of going through such unlawful acts.
He thanked the public for the noble act to apprehend the suspects and urged Rwandans to always report anyone that could be involved in unlawful activities or businesses.
