Security is a backbone to development. Concerted efforts are therefore required to fight anything that might impede the development of communities and the country in general.
These are some of the messages that were delivered to motorcycle operators operating in Musanze District, in a meeting held on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by the Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana, the Governor of the Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe and heads of motorcycle cooperatives.
The IGP asked motorists to join hands with security agencies to fight and bring to justice all those that want to obstruct their businesses and development of the country.
“There can be no development if there is insecurity; be curious of the people you transport and report anything suspicious to security organs so that we prevent rather than fight,” the IGP told the motorists.
He told them to be an eye for their colleagues and strive for what can develop them.
Rwanda is one of the most secure and safe places, but the Police Chief said there is still need for all Rwandans to strengthen their efforts to fight even the few threats that still exist.
