More Police officers undergo Community Policing Training

A total of 47 Police officers operating in different parts of the country started a five-day Community Policing Training at the Rwanda National Police Ethics centre in Kacyiru on June 23.

Trainees include district and Community liaison officers (DCLOs and CLOs) and others attached to the department of Public Relations and Community Policing (PRCP).

The course was organised by Rwanda National Police in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Commissioner for PRCP, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Damas Gatare said the training is meant to increase their understanding and skills in crime prevention and to guide them to perfection in their tasks.

He urged them to always provide quality services and in time and have a checklist of what they intend to do.

ACP Gatare challenged them to protect the image of the force and to work with the community in ensuring their safety and security.
