MINUSCA Police Commissioner visits Rwandan Police peacekeepers in Bangui

The Head of the Police component for the United Nations Multidimensional Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr. Christophe Bizimungu, visited on Thursday, August 22, Rwanda Formed Police Unit One (RWAFPU1-10) operating in the capital Bangui.

His visit is part of the tour of MINUSCA Police units to emphasize their mandate and to observe the UN principles.

CP Bizimungu was accompanied by the MINUSCA Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations.

They were received by the RWAFPU1-10 contingent commander, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jean Claude Munyeragwe, who briefed them on the operations and human security activities they have conducted since their deployment.

CP Bizimungu thanked the Rwandan peacekeepers for their dedication and sacrifice, and encouraged them to maintain the spirit with discipline and professionalism.

Currently, there are more 1000 Rwandan Police peacekeepers serving under MINUSCA.
