A total of 221 security agents from security agencies operating in Kicukiro District, on November 22 completed a four-day training on best mechanisms to jointly combat crimes.
The trainees included those from Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Defense Force (RDF), District Administration Security Support Organ (DASSO), and Reserve Force.
The training covered areas such as the law governing the newly established local security organ, DASSO, fire fighting, noise pollution, crime scene management and the community policing concepts.
The closing ceremony held at Integrated Polytechnic Regional Center (IPRC)-Kicukiro Campus, was attended by Paul Jules Ndamage, the District Mayor who hailed security organs for their tireless efforts to strengthen security in the District and the country at large, commending the training as one of the ways to maintaining peace, law and order.
Speaking at the function, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Rogers Rutikanga, the Central Region Police Commander (RPC), called for harmonized and joint efforts to combat law breakers.
“Criminals never sleep. They always change their techniques of doing their evil deeds and come up with new and sophisticated ones. Consequently, there is need to be focused and harmonize the work against their evil acts,” he said.
He challenged security personnel on discipline and integrity and urged them to lead by good example.
He also urged them to make good use of the skills to combat crimes and share them with their colleagues for maximum effect.
