The Mayor of Kicukiro district, Paul Jules Ndamage has appealed to residents to join efforts with security organs to further ensure safety in the district.

Ndamage made the call on September 24 in Kigarama sector in a security meeting with area residents.

The meeting was convinced to discuss on various security issues in Kigarama.

“Your role is enforcing safety and security in Kigarama is evident, but you have to go an extra mile fight and prevent other things to cause insecurity like sell and trade of illicit drugs and domestic violence by reporting those involved," Ndamage noted.

He also warned against taking matters in their hands to ensure own justice, which is a crime and punishable by law.

He further urged them to ignore false and misleading propaganda and focus on their development initiatives.

Inspector of Police (IP) Hamdun Twizeyimana, the District Community Liaison Officer lauded the residents for their continued collaboration with Police through timely information sharing on wrongdoers and arrest of culprits.
