Kicukiro: Local leaders urged to strengthen fight against crimes

Kicukiro District Police Commander Chief Supt. Fred Ndoli has appealed to local leaders and other security organs to harmonise and cooperate in preventing crimes in the district.

CSP Ndoli made the call on August 26 during a meeting that brought together cell executive secretaries, reservists and Community Liaison Officers in the district.

The meeting aimed at laying further joint strategies against security challenges that still exist in Kicukiro.

“We need to invest more in crime prevention by harmonizing our responsibilities and also sensitizing the public on their responsibilities to strive for own safety and peace,” CSP Ndoli said.

“Any illegal act has a negative impact on people’s safety,” he added.

He cited drug abuse, domestic and gender based violence as the most crimes committed in the district that require more efforts to combat them.

He also urged them to identify and report families that could be embroiled in wrangles so that they can be helped to amend their differences before they turn violent.
