Police in Kamonyi district, on August 14 sensitised students of Groupe Scolaire Ruyenzi on road safety rules as a way to avoid accidents caused by pedestrians.
Present were also the school administration and teaching staff in particular.
Runda Police station Commander, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Marcel Kalisa appealed to the students to always use pedestrian walkways and look at both sides of the road before crossing.
He also cautioned them against involving in other criminal acts like drug abuse but instead focus on their studies and help their parents during holidays.
He also told them to beware of people who try to trick them with empty promises when actually they want to traffic them for dirty and hard labour jobs.
CIP Kalisa urged the students to report whoever may abuse their rights and force them to child labor and physical assault.
