On Saturday, August 31, law enforcement officers from nine Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) member states, currently attending the African Union Police Officers’ course (AUPOC) at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District, conducted a study tour as part of their two-week course.
They visited Kigali Genocide Memorial where they also paid respect to more than one million people, who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
They also visited the Campaign against Genocide Museum at the Parliament.
The two-week AUPOC organized by the EASF and Rwanda National Police (RNP) aims at contributing to the EASF and continental multidimensional operational capabilities in AU peace support operations.
It is attended by the 36 law enforcement officers from nine EASF member countries, namely; Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and the host, Rwanda.
